José Cembrano

José holds a B.Sc. in geology from Universidad de Chile, and a Ph.D. from Dalhousie University in Canada. He is Professor of Geology at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago.

José is an expert in convergent margin tectonics, with emphasis on the link among crustal deformation, volcanism and hydrothermal fluid migration. José has developed a long-term collaboration with the industry, through different research and development projects in Chile.


Gonzalo Yañez

Gonzalo holds a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Geophysics from Universidad de Chile and Ph.D. in Geosciences from Columbia University. He is an Associate Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago. Additionally, he has worked in applied geophysics in government institutions , and private and state-owned companies.

He specializes in Andean geodynamics, geophysical and mining exploration methods, natural resources (geothermal, water), and seismic hazards.
